Frida Campesina "Country Girl" Khalo, is the latest rendition of our Frida Khalo Catrina figures. This piece of cultural art is hand sculpted from raw clay, after sculpting and shaping the catrina it is then kiln fired for several hours in a traditional large red brick oven. After the kiln fire is completed, this particular sculpture was painted by hand in variation of natural paints mixed, finished, and applied in manner to give the figure an authentic appearance. Gold enamel applied over the flowers and dress, the mixture of stain and color on face/hands and shawl add depth and provide vivid detail unlike any other artist can. This is an original work of art part of our Catrina Elegante collection.
